In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month 2022 last October, the Human Resources Management Office of Laguna University spearheaded a seminar-workshop in line with the theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health:  "Make mental health and well-being for all a global priority." Faculty, Staff, and Officials gathered at the Audio-Visual Room of the RLH (New) Building and via Zoom video-conferencing last October 27, 2022 for said Learning and Development (L&D) activity.  Topics on mental and physical health (Stress Reduction Management, Psychological First Aid, Hypertension Prevention and Control, and Diabetes Prevention and Control) were discussed clearly by in-house speakers. The College of Computing Studies collected valuable insights and perceptions from the various stakeholders, specifically the parents, learners and teachers through CCS Parents Consultation, conducted through Google Meet on October 12, Wednesday. The activity aims to establish strong communication between parents and teachers as stakeholders; conduct the CCS Parents' Association Officers' election; and encourage parents to assist in the planning and execution of school activities. The program commenced with a message from Mr. Nomer B. Aguado, Dean of the College of Computing Studies. Laguna University’s Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (LU-JPIA) cried out “No JPIANs left behind!” during its general assembly themed “Make Every Connection Matter” last September 08, 2022 at Laguna University’s New Building, Audiovisual Room. The mantra served as a motivation for students as they embarked on their accounting journey, where they would face hurdles and experience a roller coaster of emotions. Five (5) student volunteers from Laguna University namely, Ms. Joy Ann B. Jalos from BS Accountancy, Mr. Jhon Diego C. Brosas and Ms. Ma. Jenelle R. San Diego both from BSED Mathematics, Ms. Shane Joy P. Hermosa from BA Communication, and Ms. Din Aleah I. Pitargue from BS Entrepreneurship dominated the Laguna Red Cross Youth Quiz Bee Competition by earning a total of 149 points in the final round and was hereby declared as the Quiz Bee Champion. The competition was held at Bay Central Elementary School, Bay, Laguna last October 8, 2022. The Computer Science Department held its General Assembly last September 13, 2022 with the theme “Reconnect and Reunite in moving forward in the Digital Age”. The program took place at the Audio-Visual Room of the RLH Building, from 8 am to 5 pm. The program started with a prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and LU hymn. The College of Computing Studies welcomed the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students during the face-to-face General Assembly held on September 15, 2022 in front of the Oreta Building. Miras Laguna University will offer three new degree programs  in the incoming school year; AB Psychology, BS Psychology, and BS Computer Engineering, President Laviña said Monday, February 14  during his state of the institution address.
