Laguna University celebrated their 16th Founding Anniversary last February 14 up to February 18, 2022 at the Laguna Sports Complex Brgy. Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
A week-long celebration of Foundation Anniversary with a theme, “Variant Pi: Rapid Rise to the Top” is jam-packed with series of programs and competitions.
Beginning the festivity with the Laguna University Staff, Student leaders (selected), Teachers and Professors, and other Stakeholders who joined the Motorcade that started at exactly 8:00 in the morning. It goes around the nearby towns and Municipalities of Laguna University. Routed from the campus going to Pagsanjan to Lumban to Sta. Cruz town proper and continuously roam around Pila to Victoria to Bay as the last destination then heads back to Laguna University.
Followed by the opening program hosted by Dr. Gualolarina Fernandez held in front of Oretta Building inside the campus. Started with the Unity dance with LUPAC (Laguna University Performing Arts Club) together with the candidates of Laguna University Model Students. While singing of the National anthem and LU Hymn were next in line.
In behalf of the the Provincial Governer of Laguna, Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez, there is Atty. Dulce H. Rebanal to join the celebration and give her words of inspiration.
Next is the Thanksgiving celebration with Ms. Lea Abigail Espela as the Master of Ceremony. And to give their messages of hope, gratitude and thanksgiving here are the beloved guest speakers. Namely, Ms. April Mayo Andres, Rev. Bishop Rowel S. Arevalo, Rev. Fr. Mario P. Rivera, and Rev. Bishop Herminigildo Malabanan.
Continuing the fest, there is State of the Institution Address where the University President Dr. Charlemagne G. Lavina where he presented the development of the institution under his reign as President of Laguna University.
The events continuously happened accordingly to the run-down of the program of activities. There is Love U: A Love Story Podcast shared at LU hosted by the alyas Laika and Sashi.
Also, the Inter-Departamental competitions starting with the LU Singing Idol which runs for four days which serves days one to three are the daily rounds and day four as the finale. To continue, One vs The Mob, e-Tinda, The General Quiz show and of course the Dance Revolution. This also includes the search for Mr. and Ms. Laguna University Model Students where staged two times – the announcement of Top 3 for Male and Female candidates (after the State of the Institution Address) and the Finale day which was held on the third day of the week-long celebration.
Another activities are the Blood Letting, Research Colloquium. While on the last day, November 18th was the Employee’s Day and the Alumni Homecoming as the graduates are still part of the Laguna University Family.
